Our large campuses provide more room to adequately provide space for our students and team to follow appropriate social distancing guidelines. How To Transfer Beauty Schools

Our Dream Makers are ready to help make the transferring process as smooth as possible. Often, transferring schools can feel like applying for the first time, with a few extra steps. A general overview of some of the steps you can expect to take are:

1. Schedule Your Tour

We will let you know when we can do in-person tours or virtual tours. This is still a good first step, as you need to make sure your new school is a right fit, and we can talk through your situation. You can also expect us to walk you through the transferring process and what to expect as a transfer student.

Youl have to apply to the location you檙e interested in, since transfer students are considered a new student when going to a different school. During the application process, wel get to know you to see if our school is a good fit for you!

3. Get Information From Your Previous School

Asking your previous school for your transcript information and any outstanding balances is a must. This makes it much easier for 黑料专区 to help determine whether it檚 possible to transfer and what credits can transfer.

We have significantly modified our building to accommodate CDC guidelines and are using extra care and precautions during this time. Our students and team will be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) and all guests who enter our building will be required to bring their own mask.

At our 黑料专区, we檝e got some simple tips on how you can apply for financial aid to get you started down the path of a beauty education. Check out how simple the process is and learn how to get started by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA庐)!

What Is the FAFSA庐 and How Do I Complete It?

Beauty school students have a lot to learn as they make their journey towards becoming beauty professionals. Applying for student aid should be simple, so rather than stressing about having to pay for school, you can focus on your learning!

The first thing to understand is where you can get financial aid from. There are plenty of private scholarships that are offered to students, even scholarships for beauty school-specific students.

But there are other options too! Federal student loans could be a good option to help students pay for beauty school. FAFSA庐 stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid after all, so it’s completely free to fill out!

One of the most frequently asked questions about the FAFSA庐 is 淲here can I go to fill it out?� The official website, , is the place to start your financial aid process. Keep in mind that if you are single and under the age of 24, your parents� information is mandatory to complete it. If you are married and have dependents you are completely supporting on your own, you won檛 need your parents to fill out the FAFSA庐 form.

If you decided to start a FAFSA庐 application, youl need to create a FAFSA庐 ID and to provide basic demographics, your social security number, and a tax return for the previous year. To submit the FAFSA庐 youl most likely need the code to the school of your choice.

What檚 the Process Like With Student Loans?

There are more ways to pay for school than scholarships and FAFSA庐 money. Student loans are a viable option as well when searching out ways to pay for schooling.

First, if someone decides to take out , there is a requirement that the student has to complete an and to receive their loans. Both only take about 30 minutes to complete.

Luckily, at 黑料专区, we have financial counselors who can review info about loans and give you more knowledge on interest rates, cost of living and what loans can look like in the end for you. The promissory note is a document that you sign promising that you will repay your loans when the time comes. Both actions are mandatory to be able to be eligible for student loans.

The End of a Beauty School Journey!

If you檙e accepted into beauty school, you can expect to complete exit counseling for your direct loan. You can log in to studentloans.gov with your id username and password. Select “exit counseling for undergraduate borrowers” and it can give you great information on repayment options, the total debt owed, your grace period and a loan servicer. If you have questions you can always contact your financial aid office.

Basic Requirements

Before enrolling in cosmetology school, you have to fulfill a few standard requirements. These include:

• A high school diploma or GED is usually required
• Government-issued ID
• Filling out a student application

Enrolling in Cosmetology School

Researching cosmetology schools is an exciting and essential part of the process to becoming a cosmetologist. While you are looking at different schools, there are a few important factors to consider:

• Is the school accredited, and does it have a good reputation?
• What financial aid options are available?
• Does the school teach the courses you are interested in?

Choosing an accredited school is important for various reasons, including the validity of your degree, rigorous coursework, high licensing exam pass rates, and job placement. Choosing to go to a school with a good reputation matters because employers will see your school檚 name and recognize you have been trained well. Attending a reputable school gives employers a reason to trust your skills and helps you achieve your dream job more easily.

Accredited schools also have financial aid options, whether federal government student aid or school-based aid and scholarships. Accredited cosmetology schools will have someone available to help you learn more about what financial aid is available.

Cosmetology Programs

When you檙e looking at different schools, it檚 important to make sure the school includes courses and programs you are interested in. Cosmetology schools often include esthetics programs or other supplementary classes in related areas.

Choosing to get an additional license can be beneficial for your career and job opportunities in the future. You may even be able to get a tuition waiver from the school if you complete multiple programs.

State Licensing Requirements

Each state檚 requirements to become a licensed cosmetologist vary slightly. In Arizona, to be licensed you must:

• Graduate from an accredited cosmetology school with training on important aspects of cosmetology like hair cutting, hair coloring, salon management, makeup, and skincare.
• Complete 1600 hours of training
• Pass the state exam, which includes written and practical components

Accredited cosmetology schools train you to sit for the state exam, and they usually have high pass rates for students. Choosing a good school will help you be more prepared for the exam.

Transferring a License from Another State

If you檝e already gotten your license in another state, you can transfer your license through the Arizona Board of Cosmetology檚 license-for-license without enrolling in cosmetology school again. This licensing process includes:

  About Sariah Lee

  Sariah is one of our more recent graduates, and was an exemplary student while with us at Aveda Institutes! She traveled with us to London Fashion Week and also participated in the North American Hairstyling Awards. She was a model student, and is now an outstanding cosmetologist with in Park City, Utah. Here are some of the questions we got to ask Sariah:

  Why did you choose Aveda Institute?

  淚 chose the Aveda Institute because I wanted to be part of an organization that is innovative, creative, focused on moving into the future while still caring for the world around them.�

  

  Why did you choose to stay with Aveda after graduation?

  淚 chose to stay with Aveda after graduation for a few reasons:

  1. I love the mission and wanted to be a part of a salon that lived up to the mission.
  2. I absolutely love the color line and can檛 imagine using another one.
  3. The people who are part of the Aveda network are so supportive of one another and care for each other. I wanted to surround myself with those people.�

  What are your most popular salon services?

  淥ne of my most popular services in the salon is my men檚 haircuts.�

  What is the greatest lesson you learned in school?

  淭he greatest lesson I learned in school is that I will never stop learning, even after I檝e been in the hair business for years. It檚 never too late to learn, and you shouldn檛 be afraid to fail, because from failing, you learn.�

  

  Who is your Aveda icon and why?

  My Aveda icon is Anne Skubis (the Director of Marketing for 黑料专区). She always has fun, fresh, creative work. More than just being a fantastic makeup artist, Anne also engages with people on a personal level, and you can tell that she truly cares about the people around her. Anne strives to inspire people and lift them up, and I aspire to live up to her example.

  What are your top three tips for social media?

  1. 滶ngage and interact with your followers. Respond to their likes and comments.
  2. Consistency is key. You want your page to be aesthetically pleasing and focused on what you want to convey to the audience. Is it hair? Makeup? Eyelash extensions? Stay consistent.
  3. It檚 fun to post pictures of you in action because it makes your page more personal and you can more easily connect with the audience.�

  

  What is your greatest accomplishment since graduating?

  Two of my greatest achievements since graduating are:

  1. Finding a salon that is so supportive and positive.
  2. Building a consistent clientele.

  It is one of the biggest compliments to me when someone decides they want to come back to me for their hair, makeup, or eyelash extensions.

  Growing up, the beauty industry has always inspired and fascinated you. You grew up giving makeovers and uneven haircuts. You stayed on top of beauty trends and might have even tried out some of the wild ones. Once you got to high school, the idea of waiting until graduation to start attending a cosmetology school was too hard to bear. So, you started looking into getting your GED. It can be an intimidating thinking about the process of getting a GED. But don檛 worry, we are here to hopefully make the process a little bit easier.

  Taking the Next Step

  Congratulations! You are working on getting your GED (General Education Development).This is a huge accomplishment and one that you should be proud of yourself for. Once you have your GED, you will be qualified to begin your education at Inspire Greatness in one of our programs.

  Getting Your GED

  The steps to receiving your GED isn檛 as complicated as one might think.
